Steve Arena - Professional Engineer

B.Sc.(Computing), B.E.(Electrical), M.Eng.Sc.(Industrial Systems), M.A.C.M.

 

Steve has over twenty years of academic and professional experience in information technology and industry. Steve has tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (Computing) and  Engineering Science ( Industrial Systems). Steve maintains his professional knowledge through membership of the Association of Computing Machinery,  the Association of Professional Engineers Scientists and Managers Australia and the Australian Delphi Users Group.

  

Steve was part of the team that designed the software used to control the NSW Electricity Grid in the NSW State Control Centre. As a maintenance engineer Steve has been involved in the planning and supervision of multi-million dollar power station maintenance projects.   As a power station Information Technology manager Steve has been responsible for planning, budgeting, operation and maintenance of IT facilities for over 400 staff with an annual budgets of over $1 million. Steve was a key player in the development of decision support systems for electricity market traders for a NSW electricity generator.

 

As a member of the Association of Professional Engineers Scientists and Managers Australia, Steve was a representative for Professional Engineers in the Electricity Industry for over ten years. Steve has negotiated Awards and NSW Electricity industry restructuring at the peak level with Government and NSW Labor Council officials and enterprise CEO's.
